For the last few years the marketing industry has been dominated by discussions around data and tech, with automation and AI driving much of the debate as businesses transform themselves for the digital age. But at its heart, our industry is driven by the power of creativity, which has the power deliver commercial advantage and business growth, and we need to champion its role and its value more loudly.

 

In December's Campaign, Claire Beale argued forcefully to champion the power of creativity. “What is the ad industry’s life force? What courses through everyone’s veins? What surprises, delights, inspires, shocks, leaves you gasping for breath and thinking what a pleasure it is to be alive? Creativity. So why is adland forgetting its magic power? Why is it sacrificing brilliant creativity at the altar of the algorithm?”

 We agree and believe that creativity will not only be a key industry focus for 2019 but that it is a key driver for commercial growth, so we kick off the year talking about profitable creativity - the secret fuel of exceptional brands.
